I just paid €1500 for another year of Digital + on the basis of what they put on their website. Did Digital + lie about what they had access to? How did this happen? We all saw the long list that would come up when you put 'Liga Argentina' in the search on plus.es Central are playing Estudiantes right now and I don't much care. Those internet sites like Justin TV are terrible, I tried watching Gimnasia v Nuls on one and the sound was out of synch with the picture. Awful. I don't know what I will do for the Lanus v Racing match tomorrow. First thing Monday morning I have to ask my supplier if he can get out of the next year's subscription and get my money back. Atlético 51, you seem to be an expert, is there any other way we can get Argentine football that isn't just River and Boca, and preferable with TyC commentators, in Europe? Thanks.

It seems we are all huge fans of the Liga Argentina and now we're really angry because we looked forward to watch the first day in the world´s best football league. The things are not over because it´s normal for D+ that they are negociating a lot. Normally, D+ is going to present the sports programme for the next season a couple of days before La Liga starts - that´s the important date. For the Argentinian League, I'm afraid but I do not have any idea. The feeds at 43° W and 10° E are scrambled. I hoped on Al Jazeera but at the moment they aren´t showing any games. Maybe when the Olympic games are over but it´s just speculation. If Mediapro should have the spanish rights: Forget it, they are just going to show their channel via ADSL and cable. Sorry, but that´s the truth

Another speculation:
D+ is in a difficult situation because they don´t know what they should do with the 24-hours-channel Canal + Fútbol. They do not need this channel any more if they just have the Calcio, Brasileiro, Russia and a couple of delayed games. It would be possible to show that games on Sportmanía, Canal + Deportes and Canal + Eventos. Remember: In 1999, Digital + had lost all rights to Via Digital, except Calcio, Brasileiro and Clásico del Domingo in Argentina, therefore they quit Fútbol mundial (legendary canal de fútbol) and showed this leagues on Sportmanía... Maybe the history strikes back.
If they see that they could offer a more or lees attractive football offer, they won´t quit Canal + Fútbol and buy some more rights, for e.g. the Greece, Uruguayan or Chilenian League.
There is a reason why I think that D+ is in this conflict: They still haven´t renewed the rights for the Romanian League. I'm almost sure, Mediapro isn´t interested in this league, so that it would be easy for D+ to catch this rights. They already showed advertising spots with this league.
And what about next season, when they lose the rights for La Liga and Champions-League?
Well, I think these days are really hard for the whole team in the sports sector of D+. But what should I/we do? During the last five seasons, D+ offered us the paradise of football. Unfortunately, that´s the past and we have to look at the current situation because this is the business in the media world.

positive and negative in the last weeks (since they lost a main part of international football rights):
Positive: - Rights for the Turkish League - Canal + Fútbol is still alive - Two classics games next friday (Sporting v Barcelona from 94/95 and Celta v Benfica from 99/00)
Negative: - They are only showing games of Fenerbahce (except there are Clásicos like Galatasaray v Benfica, they do the same with LA Galaxy and MLS) - CL repetitions too late (why not on tussday and wednesday?) - Rights for Greece, Chile or Uruguay are missing

I don't see the point of it with the line-up you describe. I can't imagine many people wanting to see obscure fifteen-year-old games that only the supporters of the clubs would care about. But if something were to happen with Mediapro in January, when everyone has calmed down....

I got a Skystar 2 PC satellite card last week and last night saw Argentinos Boca live with original sound, it felt great, but the problem is what about next week, where will the feed be, will anyone find it in time, will it be enc, its a lottery.
At least if some of the channels now showing Futbol Argentino carried a second original sound feed that would be great, like UK football where most broadcasters in Europe show matches with a second native english audio sound feed.
The silly thing is that some of the channels now showing Futbol Argentino promote the league as fast, exciting and tough, then get some headcase who is half sleeping to commentate!!! or show tons of adverts then start the program 5 seconds before kick off.
I am hoping to hear some good news soon because this is our passion!!!!!
