It´s very probably that Sogecable (D+) and Mediapro (Gol TV) will reach an agreement very soon. Both companies are in a difficult financial situation; Mediapro spent a lot of money for the Liga and CL rights and looks for a Free-TV and Pay-TV partner while D+ can´t be sold to Vivendi without having Liga rights. Now they are planning to build a holding before the next Liga season starts. Then Gol TV should start on D+ or C+ Fútbol will use the rights.
Let´s have a look at rights... it would be a dream if all the leagues/competitions could be seen on the D+ platform:
Current Mediapro rights (Gol TV):
Leagues: England (together with RTVE, until 2010) Spain Argentina France Portugal Holland Scotland Belgium Ecuador Colombia Morocco
Other competitions: CL (from 2009) WCQ Europe Copa del Rey German Cup
Current D+ rights:
Leagues: Italy Germany (from next season !NEW!) Brazil Russia Turkey USA
Other competitions: Euro-League (from 2009) Copa Libertadores / Sudamericana Fa-Cup WCQ South America Coppa Italia WC 2010
A platform with all the leagues & competitions, all the experts on one channel: Julio Maldonado, Axel Torres, Daniel Martín, Iván Castelló,... Comeback of legendary programs like Fiebre de Fútbol and + & más fútbol...

Now, a part of the dream has come true: Mediapro and Sogecable reached an agreement that the whole league will be available on d+ (seasons 2009/10 10/11, 11/12). One game will be on the free-TV, one game on Canal +, two on a special football channels and the rest in PPV. It seems that Sogecable and Mediapro are going to merge. In this case, Gol TV will be available as a TDT and cable channel while D+ is allowed to use all thr rights (Champions and international leagues).
We shouldn´t forget that Mediapro hasn´t got the capacity to show eight CL games a day, so they really need a partner.

I expect good news in the next days. From what I heard, D+ is going to launch three channels 100% dedicated to football (one of them in HD). One of the channels should include an "American night" with football from South America (at least from Argentina, Brazil, Ecuador, Colombia, Libertadores and Sudamericana).
A couple of days ago, Mediapro bought a great South American football package (Libertadores, Sudamericana, Copa de Brasil, South American U-17 and U-20) while D+ still has the Brasileiro.

According to the latest information, a merge of Sogecable / Mediapro is very close. There are as well information that Gol TV will not be available at D+ but that D+ are allowed to use all their football rights (CL and football international).
To be continued...

Now it´s confirmed that D+ will launch a new channel dedicated to the Spanish League: Canal + Liga (http://www.mundoplus.tv/noticias.php?seccion=tv_digital&id=5650). This channel will show two Liga games every week (one of the games always with Barcelona / Real Madrid), two Segunda games and also Copa del Rey and UEFA Euro League. The price for this channel is 15 € / month.
Still no news about the Champions League and football international... but it seems that Canal + Fútbol won´t die. From my point of view, it´s logical that this channel will become a 100% channel for all the international football including CL games without Spanish teams. Maybe more news by the end of the week.
